* After removing your bandage, gently wash your tattoo with warm water and fragrance free antibacterial soap.
* Be sure to gently massage off the remaining blood or plasma that has settled on your tattoo
* Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel, and allow your tattoo to air dry the rest of the way before applying a thin layer of unscented, water-based lotion (e.g. Lubriderm).
* Continue to wash your tattoo with the same unscented antibacterial soap followed by the application of a thin layer of the aforementioned unscented lotion twice daily until healed - approximately 3 weeks or unless otherwise noted by your artist
* Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing around your new tattoo.
* If using Saniderm or a similar product, leave on the amount of time designated by your artist. I recommend up to 5 days unless there is any leaking or indication of an allergic reaction to the product.
* To remove: while showering, let steam and warm water loosen the adhesive, and slowly pull a corner towards you and peel off gently
* Wash with antibacterial soap and apply unscented lotion as directed above
* Do NOT pick or scratch, though your tattoo may itch. Allow loose or peeling skin to fall off naturally,
* Do NOT over-moisturize. Apply lotion sparingly so it absorbs into the skin immediately.
* Do NOT go swimming or take baths or go into the sauna until your tattoo is peeled and healed. Showers are safe, of course!
* Do NOT expose your new tattoo to direct sun for about a month and refrain from using sunscreen until fully healed, as well. Your tattoo is fragile and will burn easily.
Remember: your tattoo is a wound, just a super cool one!
